We’re building an interactive and inclusive community space where children and families can discover, imagine and grow together through play and exploration. While our space is open, we aren’t done growing. Below, you can find exhibits currently in our space, as well as places in which we’d like to grow.
As a non-profit organization, this space has been made possible entirely through the generous donations of time, talent and funding from individuals and organizations across the region. Learn how you can be a part of the magic.
Take a step into Children’s Museum of Franklin, where imagination and discovery open the doors to a lifelong love of learning.
Each of our exhibit spaces has been thoughtfully designed with the help of exhibit experts, educational advisors, and accessibility advocates, in an effort to create a welcoming and engaging space.
Wind.
It's a breezy adventure in understanding how wind shapes our world and powers our future! This high visibility exhibit will be positioned up against the large garage bay-sized windows, making it the only exhibit seen from both inside and outside the Museum.
This exhibit is on the way! Stay tuned for updates as it comes into our space early in 2026.
Water.
Water play is a classic feature of any children’s museum experience! Help us bring this area to life for our community with a water table designed by Science Kinetics and Vanderbilt University with so many educational features. We plan to use this water feature for both day-to-day interactive play and for educational programming in our space.
Transportation.
Watch trains and play with trains – it’s every young conductors dream. Uniquely positioned around a large window facing out to the MBTA line, this space features a custom-built and Franklin-themed train table.
Additionally, check out our seven-foot-long car ramp built by students at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School. Designed and built by the schools carpentry students, these ramps also feature magnetic tracks 3D printed by engineering students.
Exhibit sponsored by Vendetti Motors.
Sensory Tree.
A quiet and welcoming sensory space designed, on the outside, to look like a tree. This exhibit area is a central feature to our space, made possible by the combined talents of local architecture and construction companies.
Sponsored by C.R. Schmall Building & Remodeling and Craft Architecture.
Imaginative Play Downtown
Imaginative play sparks creativity, fosters problem-solving, and inspires lifelong curiosity through hands-on exploration. At Children’s Museum of Franklin, our imaginative play zone will feature a veterinarian clinic, a diner, roadways and vehicles, and a farm stand with gardening. Nestled in this zone is our baby/toddler zone as well. Consider it “The Common”: our baby zone is a gated space designed just for our littlest visitors.

Financial Literacy.
Ms Money’s Playroom is coming to life at the Children’s Museum of Franklin. This exhibit aims to make financial education accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for children, by reflecting the financial literacy programming developed by Rockland Trust through interactive exhibits.
Sponsored by Rockland Trust Bank.
The Climber.
The Climber is an incredible contained climbing structure planned to rise out of the “loading dock” section of our space. It will exit, on one end, into that sunken section, which will serve as our Flex Space – featuring the sock skating rink, green blocks, dinosaurs and more at various points in the year.
An opportunity for gross motor movement, this exhibit supports physical, cognitive, and social development.
Makerspace.
A dedicated makerspace serves to foster creativity in every child. This space provides an outlet for self expression and experimentation, as well as a space to display children’s artwork in the Museum!
This space is made possible in part by a Franklin Cultural Council.
Classroom & Lab.
Our space will feature a flexible classroom/lab space that can also be utilized for birthday parties. This space allow us to offer a range of STEM-based programming for elementary and middle school children on site.
Outdoor Space.
A small, but mighty, outside play zone, we’re planning for gardening, music, picnic tables and an amazing bubble centerpiece.
This is made possible in part by Middlesex Charitable Foundation
Local Art.
We worked with incredible local artist, Kayla Jean Creative to paint our logo across the front of our building. We are excited to continue to work with local artists for a future murals both inside and outside of our space.
