Our hands-on exhibits and interactive activities spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. Whether exploring science, art, or imaginative play, students will engage in enriching experiences that inspire discovery beyond the classroom.
Children’s Museum of Franklin provides a dynamic environment for hands-on, developmentally appropriate play – an essential part of early learning and healthy development.
Every space is thoughtfully designed to offer meaningful learning opportunities. Our engaging, interactive exhibits organically spark curiosity and creativity, foster cooperation, and fuel imagination and exploration, all of which connects children to a variety of curriculum areas.
For older students, Children’s Museum of Franklin provides a fun and unique way to engage with a range of STEAM concepts, expanding interests and reinforcing classroom learning and problem solving skills, all while reigniting that same spark of curiosity and drive for exploration and understanding.
Field Trip Opportunities
For groups of 50–80 students, you may choose between:
Self-Guided Field Trip Experience or
Facilitated Field Trip Experience
Either way, you will have the Museum completely to yourselves during your visit. Larger school districts can opt to schedule a series of visits across multiple days.
For groups of 20 students or less, we offer a:
Small Group Self-Guided Field Trip Experience
These visits take place during weekday operating hours, offering you more scheduling flexibility but with the same high-value experience.

All self-guided field trips allow time for hands-on exploration in our exhibit areas that feature various science, engineering, math and imaginative play concepts, MakerSpace activities, and time for snack or lunch.
Timing:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays (excluding school vacation weeks)
3 hours (9:30am - 12:30pm)
Cost
$800 for 50 students and 6 chaperones (8:1 ratio required)
$14 per additional student
$14 per additional chaperone

Frequently Asked Questions

We ask that you bring one adult chaperone for every eight children.

We limit field trips to approximately 80 students at a time to ensure that all visitors have a successful and joyful experience.
Reach out with your group needs, and we’ll work together to plan a visit – with single or multiple dates – to ensure the best experience for everyone.

Typically, private field trip experiences (on days when we are otherwise closed to the public) have a minimum of 50 students.
Some exceptions may be made; reach out to hello@childrensmuseumfranklin.org to discuss specifics for your group.

A 50% deposit is required to book your visit. The balance must be paid on or before your visit date.
Museum memberships, coupons, and discounts may not be used as part of a group visit.

Once inside the two-week window ahead of a field trip, it is very difficult to reschedule.
